Les Balcons D’Ax is located in the Ax Bonascre which sits above the pretty little village of Ax les Thermes village with its spa and casino. It is accessed from below by the cable car or mountain road which both connect the spa town to the ski area. The great plus about being up in Ax Bonascre is that whilst you can enjoy the charms of Ax Les Thermes until late in the evening via the cable car, you also have the joy of being first on the slopes in the morning as you take a leisurely stroll to the ski slopes.

Built in traditional Pyrenean style in light and dark woods with traditional stonework, Les Balcons D’Ax is a small and intimate residence with just 53 apartments in one building spread over six  floors. The restaurants, bars and shops of Ax Bonascre are just 50 metres but if the six restaurants/bars are not enough then you can just hop onto the cable car to the Ax les Thermes which is just 30m from the residence. There is also a mountain road and a 15 minute drive down to Ax les Thermes.

Facilities at Les Balcons D’Ax include free access to the indoor heated swimming pool and sauna which means a relaxing soak for those ski legs after a long day on the slopes. If you need some extra pampering then why not head down to one of the thermal spas with their naturally warm spring water that the town is renowned for? Or for some gourmet wining and dining try one of the great restaurants or a trip to the famous Baroque casino – a long standing feature with its cocktails on the terrace at the weekends.

The self-catering apartments and chalets at Les Balcons D’Ax in Ax Bonascre are comfortable and fitted and furnished to a very good standard. The decor is in-keeping with the traditional ski-apartment style and the use of wood and warm tones give them a cosy atmosphere. They all have a fully equipped kitchenette with 2 ring electric hob, microwave, small fridge, dishwasher, electric coffee-maker and a toaster.

Studio Alcove sleeping 4 (ca. 31m2): Open plan living/dining area with sofa bed (converts to 2 singles beds), 1 alcove with bunk beds & bath or shower room with WC. Balcony or terrace.

1 Bedroom Apartment sleeping 4 (ca. 33m2): Open plan living/dining area with sofa bed (converts to 2 singles beds), 1 double bedroom, bathroom with WC. Balcony or terrace.

1 Bedroom Alcove Apartment sleeping 6 (ca. 37m2): Open plan living/dining area with sofa bed (converts to 2 singles beds), 1 double bedroom , 1 alcove with bunk beds, bathroom with WC. Balcony or terrace.

2 Bedroom Alcove Apartment sleeping 8 (ca. 55m2): Open plan living/dining with sofa bed (converts to 2 singles beds), 1 double bedroom  and 1 twin bedroom, 1 alcove with bunk beds, 1 bathroom, 1 shower room & separate WC. Balcony or terrace.

Please note: for any apartments/chalets at Les Balcons d'Ax in Ax Bonascre that feature bunk beds, sleeping in the top bunk is not recommended for children under the age of 6 years old.

Pets

Pets are allowed and will be charged €38/week (payable locally). A valid passport for your pet is compulsory.

The loan of highchair, baby bath & changing mats (request at time of booking, subject to availability) board games, mini oven,  iron & ironing board and raclette/fondue sets is also possible (all subject to availability).

Reception opening hours

Every day: 09.00 – 12.00 & 17.00 - 19.00
Closed Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.

Arrival day at Les Balcons D’Ax is Saturday (unless otherwise stated) 17:00 - 20:00 and Departure by 10:00.
