Residence Ilbaritz is equidistant from downtown Biarritz and Bidart village centre and located between the sea and the golf course. It enjoys a peaceful location in its 1.5 hectare gardens and is opposite Ilbaritz International Golf Training Centre.

Just 600m away is a large sandy beach called Bidart Sud, known to be one of the most beautiful in the area. Close to the beach, amenities, restaurants and bars and just 200m from the world famous Thalassotherapy Institute, this residence is ideally situated for enjoying all the sights in the area.

Three two –storey buildings in typically Basque style architecture surround the outdoor patio which is typical of this area. Here overlooked by the apartments is the outdoor pool amidst its greenery and shady loggia. If your apartment does not overlook the patio and pool then it will have views of the nearby golf course.

The reception, with its beams, is reminiscent of the local cider halls typical of the Basque region whilst the nearby village, with its restaurants and bars, is just a short walk away. Be sure to visit the lesser known surrounding villages of Bidart, Urrugne, Sare with its caves and Bayonne with its ramparts, cathedral and Basque museum.
The large gardens, in a peaceful and safe area, make this a perfect family destination as do the selection of activities and games on offer. Tennis courts, volley ball court and table tennis and a playground are all available on site (payable) and are some of the fun ways adults and children alike can spend the warm summer days.

 
There is also a bright and cheerful breakfast room in the residence where you can enjoy a simple continental breakfast – all you need to do is order the evening before at reception and breakfast will be ready for you in the morning. There is also a self-service laundry and telephone box within the residence (both payable).

The residence offers a reading and Wi-Fi room and Wi-Fi in the apartments (both payable), one free outdoor covered parking space per apartment whilst for those who would like to explore the city and coastline on two wheels or surf the waves, there is also a bike /surf board storage facility. A local bus stops close to the residence and covers the Bidart and Biarritz area. The Cite de l’Ocean is just 750m from the residence and is well worth a visit.

Nearby Biarritz is the jewel on the coast in this beautiful Basque enclave in the Atlantic Pyrenees and is well renowned as a top destination for surfers and water sports enthusiasts who enjoy the Atlantic Ocean with its high rollers. Naturally, this gives the town a lively buzz to it but it also has a village feel and a haven for gourmet lovers and bon viveurs who will enjoy the gastronomy extravaganza here in the restaurants and bars. Its lovely promenade that snakes the coast is well worth a visit and you will encounter famous long standing sights such as the Grand Plage, and the lighthouse. The century old aquarium perches at the end of the promenade and the old marina is a great spot to enjoy excellent seafood.

Whilst exploring the stunning coastline, be sure to pop in to St Jean de Luz, a pretty fishing village just 5 miles away. The village rose to fame and became a hot spot with the French bourgeoisie after the Royal wedding of King Louis XIV to Maria Theresa of Spain took place here in 1660. The village has grown over the years but it still has its authentic Basque roots, pretty central square and port and colourful history.

Apartments

All the apartments at Residence Ilbaritz in Bidart are fitted and furnished to a good standard. The interior décor is simple and functional. They all have a TV, telephone and a fully equipped kitchenette with 2/4-ring ceramic hob, microwave - grill, fridge, dishwasher, coffee-maker and toaster (on loan at reception). There is also a furnished balcony or covered terrace.

Studio Alcove sleeping 4 (ca. 28m2): Open plan living/dining area with a double sofa bed, an alcove with bunk beds, bathroom with WC. Balcony or terrace.

1 Bedroom Apartment sleeping 4 (ca. 30 - 32m2): Open plan living/dining area with a double sofa bed or a sofa bed that converts to 2 single beds, 1 double bedroom, bathroom & separate WC. Balcony or terrace.

2 Bedroom Duplex Apartment sleeping 6 (ca. 53m2): Open plan living/dining area with double sofa bed or an alcove with bunk beds, 1 bathrooms & separate WC. Upstairs: 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bathroom with WC. Balcony or terrace.

2 Bedroom Duplex Apartment sleeping 8 (ca. 59m2): Open plan living/dining area with double sofa bed, an alcove with bunk beds, 1 bathrooms & separate WC. Upstairs: 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 bathroom with WC. Balcony or terrace.

Please note: for any apartments at Residence Ilbaritz in Biarritz that feature bunk beds, sleeping in the top bunk is not recommended for children under the age of 6 years old.

Price includes

Fully equipped apartment, flat screen TV, beds made on arrival and towels, one free outdoor parking space, free access to the pool (open mid-May to mid-September (weather permitting) on Sun-Fri, 09.00-12.00 & 16.00-19.00), boules area, luggage room, locked bike and surf board storage.

Pets

Pets are allowed and will be charged €35/week (payable locally). A valid passport for your pet is compulsory.
