Located just 50m from the Medieval City within the heart of Carcassonne, La Barbacane residence is a small and modern residence built in 2006. Due to its central location in the old town, pretty little squares and narrow streets, beckon with quaint restaurants and local bars offering delicious cuisine and bustling nightlife.

As well as being centrally located, the residence is set in its own peaceful gardens filled with palms, roses and laurel trees. The nearby local cafes and restaurants are right on your doorstep whilst other sites including the beautiful Canal du Midi and its boat trips are just a short walk away.

The reception of the residence is bright and welcoming with modern art decorating the walls and a coffee machine and chilled drinks machine at your disposal (payable) Above the reception area is the small gym room and onsite Jacuzzi – great for a quick workout or a spot of relaxation after a heavy day sightseeing. The residence also has a laundry room (payable), lift and luggage storage.

Just off the reception area on the ground floor, you can also find the breakfast room - it serves up a great continental breakfast buffet with cured meats, cheeses and yoghurts. You can enjoy your breakfast inside or
On the lovely terrace.

Set amongst the green and flowery gardens are the two buildings containing the 70 modern and comfortable studios and apartments. All apartments enjoy garden views and come with the extensive buffet breakfast served in the breakfast room.

The town centre is only a short walk away and boasts two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Besides the beautiful and scenic Canal du Midi there is also the truly stunning, fortified Medieval City and a wander through the intimate cobbled alleyways of the lower town and medieval city, lined with bars and restaurants, will lead you to discover the towns many cultural, historical and gastronomical delights. Carcassonne is great to explore by bicycle and the residence offers bike rental and private underground parking in its onsite garage (both payable and subject to availability).
 

Apartments 
All the apartments at Residence La Barbacane are air conditioned and fitted and furnished to a good standard. The interior décor is modern and fresh. They all have a flat screen satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, a safe and a fully equipped kitchenette with 2-ring electric hob, microwave, fridge, coffee-maker and kettle (on request). The bathrooms have a bathtub with shower attachment as well as a separate WC. Some apartments have a furnished balcony or garden terrace.

Studio sleeping 2 (ca. 25m2): Open plan living/dining area with a double sofa bed, bathroom with WC. Balcony or terrace.

1 Bedroom Apartment sleeping 2-4 (ca. 40m2): Open plan living/dining area with a double sofa bed, double bedroom, bathroom & separate WC. Balcony or terrace. May be duplex.

- Refundable breakage deposit: €200/apartment - Please note no deposit, no keys!

- Optional underground parking (height limit 2.00m): €8.50/car/night (pre-bookable and payable in advance or on arrival- subject to availability).
- Laundry (self-service): €5/wash cycle & €3/dry cycle.

Reception opening hours

Monday – Saturday: 08:00 – 12:00 & 15:00 – 20:00 & Sunday: 08:00 – 12:00.

Arrival day at Residence La Barbacane is Saturday (and other days on request) 15:00 - 20:00 and Departure by 11:00.
